MEDICATION USED FOR

Cefixime used to treat bacterial infection .  Cefixime treat a wide variety of bacterial infection . This medication  is known as a cephalosporin antibiotics. Cefixime not work for viral infections ( such as common cold, flu) . Cefixime used to treat many different types of infection caused by bacteria  such as bronchitis ( infection  of the airway tubes leading to the lungs , gonorrhea ( a sexually transmitted disease ) and infections of  the ears , throat , tonsils and urinary tract. Cefixime is in a class of medication called cephalosporin antibiotics. Cefixime also sometimes used to treat sius infections in pencillin allergic patients pneumonia, shigella ( an infection that causes severe diarrhea) salmonella ( an infection that causes diarrhea & typhoid fever ( a serious infection that is common in developing countries, Cefixime is a broad – spectrum  antibiotics used a variety of condition  like urinary  tract infection , ear infection and lung infection caused by bacteria.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

Cefixime in a clas of medication called cephalosporin antibiotics. Cefixime  works by killing bacteria . Antibiotics such as cefixime  will not work for colds,flu or other viral infection .Using antibiotics when they are not needed  increases your risk of getting an  infection later that resists antibiotics treatments . Cefixime binds to one  of the pencillin binding protein (PBPs) which inhibits the final transpeptidation step of the  peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell death. The bacteriocidal action of cefixime is due to the inhibition of cell wall synthesis . Cefixime  binds to one of the pencillin binding  proteins ( PBPs) which inhibits the final transpeptidation step of the peptidoglyycan  synthesis in the bacterial cell wall tus inhibiting biosynthesis and arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death.
